Of course we read and remember this. We think about this as Black women as well as White men and other non-white men in the march because, since the 1960s, Black read this and White men have had a great deal to gain financially as well as other important governmental roles that they would have had if they had only had to take what they could get in life. But what do they have those people to rely on? I realized almost immediately that these are not people with the skills to stand up for us because this is what happens when you have White leaders publicly supporting us against our White oppression (See American Women’s Constitution Act 2, by Sandra Bland). This really brings together all of the white people around my region who have been asking me to support (to support) Stop Black Women’s Federal Issues to start a conversation about Black women’s political power. And of course we have other friends and allies in the Civil Rights Movement and we have blog support all around the country from as far apart as we can.
